Fotofocus: Long View. Fitton Center for Creative Arts

Saturday, October 17, 2026

I debuted 11 new portraits and landscape works from the ongoing project “After a Painted River”. Creating a concise artist talk was perhaps one of the greatest things I have done yet this year to advance both my photographic practice and the direction of this body of work. In my talk, I directly addressed themes of the absurdity of land ownership, the beauty of both the invitation and precarious ways nature presents itself, the comfort we find in the continuity of revisiting the land, and how the traces of history show up and influence our feelings toward the landscape. Thank you to Fotofocus for uniting the photographic community in Southwest Ohio, and to Fitton Center for having me and engaging the community in art.
